This is one of my entries for the "Dracula:Vlad Tepes" contest at my vampire club: ~vampirerequiem

I've been working on this -- and the other entry -- for several days, doing them in conjunction with eachother as companion pieces.

I started this one first, but as I was working on it, I didn't think it conveyed all I wanted to do for Dracula. I had a difficult time deciding if I wanted to portray the passionate/romantic side of Dracula, or just do a monster Dracula. The original book paints him as little more than a monster. But there have been movies and plays since then that shows a more romantic and sensitive side to him, developing what I always considered a rather two-dimensional fictional villain. So here is the romantic side of Dracula.

Edit: Just cleaned up the dark parts a bit. Hopefully that does the trick.

Oh, that´s a good idea...I always loved how he was shown in Coppola´s movie - so I like your idea of showing his romantic side. I love the expression on his face, it´s so tender, despite the blood. And I absolutely adore his hair!!!:-)

Hehe! Thanks, but I can't take credit for that. The stock model was wearing that.

I like the piece very much, but I think the resolution needs to be higher-- the dark area is very pixelated :(

I love this one more than the other one. You deserve a :winner:

Thanks! I hope I win but there's a lot of talented people in the club. Although, so far these two are the only entries to the Dracula contest. There's a month left, but I wouldn't like to win by default just cause no one else did one... Hmmmmm.

Ack! I can't see it on my computer, but I know my flat panel monitor does make things look different sometimes.

It's not terrible... maybe if you just softened it a bit or something like that?
